As a travel agent, I am able to get you exclusive rates on hotels, resorts, flights, rental cars, excursions, concerts, shows, sporting events, and more. I can do all of the planning and booking. You just choose from a selection of options presented in your personalized quote. I take care of the rest!
Is There a Fee Involved in Working with a Travel Agent?
I personally charge a non-refundable $25 fee to provide a travel quote. This is because I am not paid commissions for booking your travel until about 2 months after you return. This small fee helps cover my overhead and expenses until I can receive full payment. This fee also helps me to not waste hours or days creating quotes for people who are not actually booking travel and are just window shopping for prices. It may sound harsh, but have a family and can't afford to work for free.
Isn't It More Expensive to Work with a Travel Agent?
No. Travel agents receive amazing discounts from their vendor/supplier partners. Plus, most hotels, flights, rental cars, etc. already have commissions built in to their pricing that is just absorbed by the site you use to book. By using a travel agent, you are allowing those commission amounts to be sent directly to an independent travel agent and show your support for their small business.
What Do I Have to Provide Prior to Booking?
I will need to see a copy of your photo ID, as well as your passport if you are traveling out of country. This goes for all members of the group you are traveling with. I have to verify that the payment method you are using belongs to you, and that you are who you say you are before I can book your travel. Plus, I have to enter all of your group’s information exactly as it appears on your ID or passport, otherwise, you could end up with travel delays or cancellations due to the wrong information being used.
Do I Have to Pay in Full at the Time of Booking?
Honestly, that depends on the individual itinerary. Most of the travel plans that I arrange allow a hold period of 1 to 3 days with no charge, and then a portion of the total due in the form of a deposit at the time of booking. Typically, the remainder of the booking charge is due approximately 45 days before your travel and can be made in incremental payments at any time!
Do I Have to Work With You to Get Your Rates?
Sometimes, you just wanna do things yourself and follow your own process. I understand that and I fully support anyone who handles their own adventure arrangements. Please note: if you are planning more complicated travel (i.e., large groups, packages involving flights + hotels + rental cars + activities, etc.) I personally suggest working with an agent who can make sure that all aspects are covered and that your itinerary works well and does not have you rushing through your adventures without taking the time to enjoy them.**
